Little Cyril has been going to school early everyday and playing chess. He played in his first team tournament last month and they got 6th place. He really enjoys it, and will be playing in an individual tournament in May. He is doing fantastic in school, reading at a sixth grade level, and has mastered addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division! They are working on testing his intellectual abilities so we can get an individual educational program for him, to continue to let him learn since he is so far ahead of his classmates. :)
Tommy is doing fantastic as well. He started at a new preschool last month and is thriving. When I go to pick him up he wants to stay longer! His favorite afternoon activity is jumping on the trampoline now that warmer weather is here! He also has inspired us to make a vegetable garden. They had planted some carrot seeds at school and wanted to plant more at home. So we went to Home Depot and got seeds and supplies for a raised vegetable garden.
We have carrots, watermelon, and a few tomato plants so far! We also have strawberries in a planter.
Now for an update on Cyril and myself! We are both busy working and trying to get the yard cleaned up for spring. Cyril is on a coed softball team, and he will have games on Tuesdays. I am still working out a lot, but about to cut back on classes a bit and enjoy more time outside with the boys.
On a sad note we were faced with the incredibly difficult decision of putting Hercules to sleep last month. He had been having a rough time since about December. We tried new medicine, but it was only a temporary fix. He was tired, has great difficulty walking and just wasn't his happy self. We miss him terribly, and the kitchen is very lonely without him. He was a fantastic dog. He would have been nine at the end of this month. That is the hardest part about having such a big dog, besides the drool :) is that the bigger the dog, the shorter their life :(
