Sunday Dinner at Grandma's

Growing up, my Mom always went to her Grandma's house for dinner on Sundays. So we have recently started this tradition as well, going to my parents each Sunday evening to share a meal and talk about what is new. Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day, so we were able to have some fun inside and out!

Little Cyril wanted to play hopscotch, so we ended up with four hopscotch courses. Tommy wanted to ride in the wagon, so we took several trips up and down the street. Then there was hide and seek, where Cyril found a Cicada shell on the Bradford Pear tree. And of course last but not least there was a delcious meal at the end!

 

 

 

Rainy Day At Dollywood

Yesterday we took little Cyril and his friend Carter to Dollywood. The weather was rainy and cool, but the park was practically empty! So we bought ponchos and walked right on all the rides! It was such fun! Just hope the next time we go they aren't disappointed if there are lines :)

"Basking In The Son"

We had our parish day at our diocesan camp, Grace Point, this past Saturday. We had a great time. We got there just in time for a little praise and worship, then headed off to the dock for little Cyril to do some fishing. Just as we expected Tommy would be ready for his nap as soon as we arrive, and he was, cranky as ever! So I strolled him around while Cyril, Cyril, and Grammy (Susan, Cyril's mom) tried to catch a fish!

 

Tommy and I found ourselves in the craft barn where he fell asleep being pushed around in his stroller by one of our youth. While I traced my hands and colored them for a wreath that was being made with the cut outs. Then we had a delicious lunch prepared by one of our parishioners who is a caterer, and it was FABULOUS!! After lunch we stayed in the commons area and played BINGO, until little Cyril won. Not only did he win with one card but won with both at the same time! He was ecstatic! Next we headed up to the retreat house pool where he swam like a little fish until it was time to go. It was a beautiful day spent with beautiful people, can't wait for next year!

First Day of Kindergarten!

Cyril loved his first day of kindergarten! Met some new friends, counted to more than 100 for his teacher, and even wrote a spiderman book! He is off to a great start! He will go back friday for his first full day, and next week will go everyday!

Yellow Belt

Tonight Cyril had his official ceremony for his yellow belt in karate! We are so proud of him!

Last Day of Summer!

Today was Cyril's last day of summer! He starts kindergarten tomorrow with Mrs. Pendergrass as his teacher! So today I thought we would do something special, we went to the zoo! We took his friend Carter Rose with us. They had a great time. Cyril loved the new splash pad (and so did Tommy)! Tommy also enjoyed most of the animals :) we went ahead and got a pass for a year and I am glad we did! I know we will go back soon! They have updated quite a few exhibits since we were there last a couple years ago. Here are some pics of our day!

Trying Out Shoes

Today I am trying to get Tommy to wear shoes :) at first he acted like his feet were too heavy to even crawl! Slowly but surely he is getting used to the idea. He has even taken se steps in them. We will see how long he will keep them on his feet before he figures out how to take them off!
